Alford "Alf" Taylor, age 89 of Loudon, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of The United States Army. He was an avid UT fan, he loved hunting, spending time at Hardee's with his friends, and gardening. Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his parents; William and Fronia Taylor, by brothers; Bob and Herman Taylor, and by sisters; Bessie Bales, Beulah Kemp, and Margie Brogdon. He is survived by his wife of 65 years; Lillian Taylor of Loudon, by a son; Richard Taylor and wife Linda of Loudon, by a Granddaughter; Nicole Newberry and husband Jason of Loudon, by Great-Grandchildren; his pride and joy Peyton, Serenity, and Taylor. He is also survived by special caregiver and nephew; Brandon Johnson, and by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lenoir City Church Of Christ for their assistance during Alford's illness. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 5pm-7pm at Loudon Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 7pm with special friend Jim Wilsford officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11am at Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery. Loudon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
