Arthur McGinley

Major Arthur L. McGinley, USMC Retired, of Concord, reported for duty to his heavenly father at 5 a.m. Saturday, , March 8, 2014. He was a husband, Father , grandfather, scholar, Christian, and Marine , . He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Nelle P. McGinley; Infant sister, Georgia Nelle. Arthur was a decorated Marine , a Graduate of Loudon High School. He held degrees from Virginia Tech. Institute, The George Washington University and the American University. He was a life member of several organizations including Phi Beta Kappa, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Disabled Americans Veterans, and the National Rifle Association. He was Past Master of George Washington Lodge #181 F&AM and a member of the Blount County York Rites Bodies, a member of Tennessee Priory # 15, KYCH and the Royal Order of Scotland, as well the First Families of Tennessee. He leaves to celebrate his passing into the celestial lodge above his beloved wife of 52 years, Frieda Jane Rose McGinley; Daughter and son-in- law , Cheryl and Tom Swenton, Concord; Daughter, Robin McGinley Klix, Winchester, Va.; Three Dearly loved Grandchildren, James Klix, Shannon and Christopher Swenton. Family and Friends will meet at the Loudon Funeral Home 1:30 p.m.Tuesday to precede to Roberson Cemetery for a 2 p.m. Graveside service. Dr. Kenneth Gates officiating.
