Betty Shell

Betty Shell, 85 of Niota, passed away Thursday morning, May 12, 2016. She was member of Union McMinn Church and retired from Niota Textile. She was President of Residents counsel at Wood Village and received many awards from the Sweetwater F.O.P. Toys for Tots. She is preceded in death by mother and step-father, Eula and George Casteel; husband of 57 years, Walter Shell; brothers-in-law, Carlos (Boo) Wells and Dallas Justice. Survived by sons, Mike and Debbie Shell, and Steve and Sandy Shell; three granddaughters, Stephanie Shell, Autumn (Dusty) Williams, and Lauren (Stacy) Chambers; great grandchildren, Tyler Sloan, Kobe Dawson, Chapel Chambers, Bristol and Piper Williams, and Anna, Aiden and Rhiley Rodriguez; sisters, Evelyn Justice, Ruby Armstrong, and Vickie Wells; brother-in-law, Bill and Wanda Shell; step granddaughters, Amber Webb and Cassie Briones; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Marie Stephens and Sharon Cook. Special thanks to caregiver Ruth Watkins, Woods Village and Sweetwater Hospital, and Dr. Shamblin. Funeral service 7pm, Saturday, Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacy Chambers officiating. Family and friends will meet at West View Cemetery, Sunday, for 2:00 pm. graveside service. Family will receive friends 5 - 7 pm, Saturday, prior to the service at Loudon Funeral Home.
