Billy Joe Millsaps, Sr. 84, of Philadelphia, peacefully went home to be with Jesus September 2, 2015. A lifelong member of Philadelphia First Baptist Church for 71 years. He began working for Union Carbide of Loudon in 1957 and retired from Viskase Corporation, Loudon in 1993 after 36 years of service. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved and devoted his life to his family. Bill trained and showed Tennessee Walking horses for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Wanda Watts Millsaps; parents, Henry and Julia Millsaps; brothers, Howard, Lloyd, Donnie, Henry and Tommy; sisters, Nova, Mary and Dama. Survivors; daughter and son in law, Kathy and Conway Dukes; sons and daughters in law, Joe and Kim Millsaps, Andy and Karmen Millsaps, all of Philadelphia, and John and Alicia Millsaps, of Loudon; grandchildren, Josh, Matt, Nina, Lena, Ben, Morgan, Eli and Hannah; great grandchildren, Jake and Carlee; sisters, Faye Bledsoe of Etowah and Zula Hall; brother, Wallace Millsaps, both of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Tony and Carolyn Bledsoe; special caregivers, Angie Rhodes and Lena Rollen. Funeral service for Mr. Millsaps will be 7:00 pm Friday, Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating. Graveside service 10:30 am Saturday, at Westview Cemetery.
