SHANAHAN, BILLY J. - 73 Salem Valley Rd., passed away Saturday at his home. He was a member of High Ridge Baptist Church and retired from the Roane County Highway Department. Preceded in death by parents, Bill & Esttel Giles Shanahan. Survivors: wife, Geraldine Humphries Shanahan; daughters, Angela Smith, Philadelphia, Tammy & husband, Jay Lowe, Ten Mile; sons, David & wife, Tracy Shanahan, Joey & wife Helen, all of Ten Mile, Stanley & Vickie Shanahan, Rockwood; 5 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty & husband, Bill, Powell, Ann & David Kyle, Sweetwater; brother, Jimmy & wife, Doris Shanahan, Sweetwater; several nieces & nephews. Funeral services 7 p.m. Monday Highridge Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Rolen & Rev. Ted Clowers officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Highridge Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday prior to the services.
