Bruce Thompson

Bruce E. Thompson, age 88 of Sweetwater TN, passed away Thursday December 5, 2019 at Trail Creek Place in Indiana. He worked for Iron Workers Local Union #395 for 50 years and retired in 1994 and moved back to his hometown Sweetwater, Tennessee. Bruce loved farming. He was a proud fabricator, iron worker, and welder. On June 3, 1950, Bruce married Loney Thompson who preceded him on August 11, 2017. He is also preceded by a son, Tony Thompson; daughters, Kathy Carter and Kelli Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Michelle Thompson. He is survived by his children, Tom Thompson and wife Carol, Connie Kesler and husband Jerald, Randy Thompson and Rick Thompson; son-in-law, Ray Mitchell; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, December 9, 2019 from 5-7pm at Loudon Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow at 7pm. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11am at Reed Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Loudon Funeral Home and Cremations is serving the Thompson family.
