Clarence A. Lanford, "Sonny" "Bud", born April 8, 1932, died September 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. And Elizabeth Lanford. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Camille Banks Lanford, daughters, Gwendolyn Lanford & Marcelyn L. Kirby(Phil Kirby) and grandchildren, Cody Kirby& Vance Kirby (Ria Lively, children Logan & Jada). Sonny was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and was an outstanding athlete, All-State in football, track and high hurdles, winning State High Hurdles in 1950. Attended Auburn University on a football scholarship. In later years the Senior Olympics. He was an avid sportsman, hunter, & fisherman. He moved to Knoxville in 1963 with his wife and children. He later moved to Loudon on Watts Bar Lake in 1985. He was always generous with his time and could always be counted on to help. He served on several church committees, was a Sunday School teacher, past elected Deacon & Elder, and a 32nd degree Mason. He retired from over 30 years in the oil business. Funeral services were held Saturday at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Loudon County Humane Society.
