Charles Purkey

Charles Lee Purkey, age 72, of Loudon went to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He retired from Maremont. He was a member and Deacon of Blairland Baptist Church.

Mr. Purkey was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Purkey; parents; Ralph and Susie Purkey; and brother, Donnie Purkey. He is survived by daughter, Carol Shubert and husband, Bobby; son; Tim Purkey; grandchildren, Michaela Shubert and Macy Shubert; and extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Blairland Baptist Church building fund. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 5-7pm at Blairland Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 7pm; Pastor Jon Henson and James “Tater” Wells officiating. Graveside service will be Sunday September 5, 2021 at 1:30pm at Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
