Clarence Wayne Hogg, age 67 of Sweetwater, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2021. He served as a Sunday School teacher in Cleveland, TN for 24 years; served as youth leader, and served as pastor of Sweetwater First Church of the Nazarene for 20 years. Clarence also worked at Georgia Pacific for 43 years. Clarence is preceded in death by children, twins, Janet Lee and Patricia Ann Hogg; Parents, Arthur “Dot” and Myrtle Hogg; Brother, George Hogg; Father in law, Okey Adkins; Sister in law, Sherry Kavorkian. Clarence is survived by wife of 47 years, Dorothea Hogg; Mother in law, Rachel Adkins; Children, Tammy Roberts and husband Shawma, Amanda McCulley and husband Jason; Grandchildren, Jonathon and Summer Shipley, Joshua, Olivia, and Micah McCulley; Great Grandchildren, Kahlani Valentine, and Kamdyn Oggs; Brothers, David and Eddie Hogg; Step Grandchildren, Jason, Jaden, Davious, Maya, and Lex; Clarence is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends 4 – 6 PM Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Loudon Funeral Home and Sunday, October 24, from 2-4 PM at Sweetwater First Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service will follow at 4PM. Rev. Brian Nave will be officiating. Family and friends will meet at 4:45 PM Monday, October 25, at 343 County Road 114, Athens, TN 37303, for a 5 PM graveside service.
