Clyde Roberson , age 83 of Loudon, formerly of the Hardin Valley Community in Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2016. He was a loving husband, Daddy and Pap. He was a deacon for many years at Hines Valley and Centerview Baptist Churches. He was a member of Stoney Point Baptist Church and a Veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army for 20 years. He also retired from the City of Knoxville after 25 years as a surveyor. Following retirement, he enjoyed farming. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Annie Mae; wife, Wilma; daughter, Sharon; and brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; daughters, Sheila (Tony) Thomas and Sherry (John) Long; step-daughter, Cleona (Bobby) Smith; step-son, Billy (Debbie) Palmer; grandchildren, Tenyka (Jim), Jennifer, Laura (Ramey), Bethany(William), Amanda, Allison, Tracy (Josh), John, Josh (Lindsey), and Erik; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Zander, Zoe, Noah, Zack, Sara, Tanner, Macy, Colton; brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews, other extended family members and many friends. He also helped raise Wanda, Billie and Kathalene and thought of them as his children. The family would like to thank all the caregivers for their love and support. Funeral service for Mr. Roberson will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Kirkland and Rev. Delmar Loy officiating. Graveside service 11:00 am Thursday at Marietta Cemetery, in Knoxville, with Rev. Cory Rogers officiating. Pallbearers: Leroy Beeler, Herschel Brooks, Jim Jenkins, Charles Lumpkin, Robert Thompson, and Gerald Williams. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.
