DeWayne Arp

Charlie “DeWayne” Arp Sr., better known as Coach Arp, age 79 of Loudon, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was raised at Corinth Baptist Church. He was a member and Lay Leader of Loudon United Methodist Church. He was a 58 year member and Past Master of Tennessee Lodge 204 F&AM, and a member of the Loudon Lions Club. He was the coach of the Loudon High School Girls Basketball team where they made two state tournament appearances, and after retirement he started Classic Videography doing many weddings, recitals, and graduations in Loudon and surrounding counties. He loved announcing the Loudon High School basketball games on Redskin Radio. He was an avid Tennessee Lady Vols basketball fan. He enjoyed traveling.  

DeWayne was preceded in death by wife, Donna Hooker Arp; wife, Suzanne Hawthorne Arp; infant brother, Freddie Joe Arp; parents, Charlie and Alma Arp and brother-in-law, Jack Nichols. He is survived by his wife Debi Widener Arp; children, Kristi Ferguson and husband Dave, Leslie Lindsey and husband Bryan, Carrie Waltman and husband Scott, Charlie Arp and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Valerie Goss and husband Austin, Hayden Ferguson, Kaylen Lindsey and fiance Tony Gonzalez, Maggie Lindsey, Parker Waltman, Charlotte Arp; special cousin (brother), Doyle Arp and wife Kay; sister-in-law, Carolyn Nichols; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family would like to say thank you to Hearth Hospice Group especially nurse Kim Beck, and Terra Bella Memory Care in Athens TN.  

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 1-3pm at Loudon Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 3pm with Tony Lindsey officiating and eulogy by Doyle Arp. Interment will be held in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
