SCARLETT, DOROTHY NELMS - 77 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday January 12, 2013 at UT Medical Center. Dorothy grew up in Philadelphia, TN and is the last surviving child of eight brothers and sisters and also preceded in death by parents, Rev. Ruford and Ethel Byrum Nelms; husband, Arvelle Scarlett; daughter, Amy Scarlett; grandson, Brent Scarlett; sisters, Bernice Harrison, Mildred Franklin, Merline Ottinger; brothers, Joe, James, George, A.R. Don and Kermit Nelms. Survivors: daughters, Kim, Lisa Scarlett; sons, Mike, Kenny, Rick, Mark, Steven Scarlett; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Deep Springs Cemetery in Jefferson County for graveside service and interment with Pastor Chris Talley officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Loudon Funeral Home. www.loudonfuneralhome.net
