JONES, FRED "JUNIOR", JR. - 89, of Loudon, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at his home after a brief illness. Junior was born December 15, 1923. Retired produce manager, Food City. Veteran of the US Army, WWII member of 331st Infantry Army Division Combat, awarded the Purple Heart. Preceded in death by wife of 65 years, Agnes Blankenship Jones; parents, Fred Jones, Sr. and Thelma Barley Jones; step mother, Mary Russell Jones; brothers, Lloyd and Eugene Jones; sisters, Edith Worley, Margaret Starritt; brothers-in-law, Bill and Kenny Blankenship; sister-in-law, Pauline Blankenship. Junior was a long time member of New Macedonia Baptist Church. Dad loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart, as well as his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors: children, Janice and Russell Woody, Loudon, Larry and Joyce Jones, Talbott, Ricky and Rhonda Jones, Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Coley and Sarah Woody, Loudon, Rusty and Kim Woody, Knoxville, Katie Woody, Loudon, Ryan and Ashley Jones, Florida, Paul Wise, Knoxville; great grandchildren, David, Riley, Blake and Ty Woody, Taylor Jones; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jones and Bobbie Blankenship; brother-in-law, Bull Starritt, Loudon; special friends, Sandra Huffine, Ryan and Amy Muir; nieces and nephews. He will lie in state from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Loudon Funeral Home Saturday for viewing and family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Sunday, New Macedonia Baptist Church with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Bill White and Rusty Woody officiating. Interment new Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Ridge and Coley Woody officiating. Military honors by Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard.
