Gary O'Neal

Gary O’Neal, age 69 of Loudon, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022. He was born in Kansas City, MO on December 26, 1952 to Milton “Tom” O’Neal and Margaret O’Neal-Failes. Gary served in the U.S. Navy (1971-1979) and worked as a milwright in various locations.  He was a member of Milwright Union 1529, Moose Lodge 1093, and USS Towers (DDG-19). He loved spending time with his family and friends while doing various home improvement projects, traveling, or enjoying a good meal.  Gary always enjoyed a good joke and laughter and he always inspired everyone he came in contact with to be the best they could be. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Teresa “Terry” O’Neal; stepfather, Francis “Tiny” Failes; sister, Jane Smith; brother, Ronnie O’Neal and son-in-law, Billy Seward.  He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carolyn; children, Wendy (Robert) Brown, Crystal (Rob) O’Neal, Patrick (Cricket) O’Neal, Leslie (Jake) Poff, John O’Neal and Patricia Seward; siblings, Marcia O’Neal, Sally (Don) Larkin, Jill (Ray) Romero, Charlie (Shannon) Failes; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 5 PM – 7 PM in the chapel at Loudon Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM. The graveside service will be 11 AM Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Thornburg officiating. Online condolences can be left at www.loudonfuneralhome.net.
