BOWDEN, GEORGE THOMAS - 69 Loudon, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 27, 2012. George was born February 26, 1942 in Lenoir City to the late Dewey and Myrtle Bowman Bowden; his son, Tom Bowden passed away in December, 2001. George had recently moved back to Tennessee from Jacksonville, FL. He was a graduate of the Class of 1960, Lenoir City High School; a graduate of the University of Tennessee; 1st Lieutenant Tennessee National Guard; retired from CSX transportation after 37 years of services; and long time member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville. Survivors: loving wife of 42 years, Janie Roberts Bowden; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Shirley Bowden, Farragut; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donnie and Betty Roberts, Judy Roberts Humphreys, Loudon; niece, Kathy Bowden Moore and husband Brad, Knoxville; nephews, Mike Bowden and wife Jill, Lenoir City, Jason Humphreys and Brianne, Loudon; great nieces and nephews, Rachel and Rebecca Moore, Haley and Ella Humphrey, Tate and Carter Bowden, Dylan and Braden Humphreys. Funeral Services 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Loudon Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jon Henson officiating. Family requests memorials to: First Baptist Church Building Fund, 124 West Ashley St. Jacksonville, FL, 32202. Interment 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Jacksonville.
