James E. Bennett, 92, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during WWII. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a wonderful father and a Great Dad. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Maude Bennett; granddaughter, Janelle Nance, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Verona June Bennett; sons, James, Jr. and wife, Linda of Clayton, AL, Alan and wife, Kathy, of Luther OK, Mike, of Loudon, and Roger, of Kingston; daughters, Connie Shular and husband, Anthony, of Sevierville and Vicki Brewster Reynolds, of Maryville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great granddaughters. Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Monday, at Loudon Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Cook officiating. Graveside service 11:30 am Tuesday at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN with military honors provided by East TN Honor Guard and U.S. Army Honor Guard.
