James Bennett

July 9, 1925 — August 10, 2017

James E. Bennett, 92, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during WWII. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a wonderful father and a Great Dad. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Maude Bennett; granddaughter, Janelle Nance, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Verona June Bennett; sons, James, Jr. and wife, Linda of Clayton, AL, Alan and wife, Kathy, of Luther OK, Mike, of Loudon, and Roger, of Kingston; daughters, Connie Shular and husband, Anthony, of Sevierville and Vicki Brewster Reynolds, of Maryville; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great granddaughters. Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Monday, at Loudon Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Cook officiating. Graveside service 11:30 am Tuesday at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 Gov. John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN with military honors provided by East TN Honor Guard and U.S. Army Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday evening 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Loudon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. www.loudonfuneralhome.net
