Ralph was born on October 15, 1928, in Knox County, Tennessee. He developed a love for cutting wood at an early age and was a hardworking and talented sawmill owner and operator. His wood has been used all over the world. Ralph cut cross ties for the railroad in Rebel Railroad, now Dollywood. He was enthusiastic about driving fast Fords and rubbing babies' heads with a grin on his face. Every morning, he would lovingly kiss his wife before heading to the sawmill. They often walked holding hands. He could usually be found wearing his overalls. Ralph had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and like they had always been his friend. He was a member of Paw Paw Plains Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 7pm Sunday, Loudon Funeral Home, with Rev. Darrell Hackwork and Rev. Tony Bandy officiating. Graveside service 1pm Monday, at 12030 Yarnell Road, Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends 4pm - 7pm Sunday, prior to the funeral service. Special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, Right at Home Care, and special friends and family who provided care for Ralph.
