Janice Hawkins

Janice Rose Upton Hawkins, 58, of Loudon, TN departed her earthly home and ascended to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. She was a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and she loved the Lord. She graduated from Austin East High School in 1973. She was long-term employee of Tate and Lyle- Dupont (formerly A.E. Staley). She is preceded by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Upton; father, Franklin Harrison, Sr.; mother-in- law, Theda Rhea "Lutie" Hawkins and father-in-law, William Thomas Smith. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Hawkins; children, Joshua Hawkins and Elizabeth Ayesha Hawkins of Loudon, TN; step-son, Jaison Brown; granddaughters, Chelsea Brown, Lae'la Hawkins and Aahana Collins; sisters, Cynthia (Willie)Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN, Kay Campbell of McDonald, TN, Pamela Upton of Knoxville, TN, Tina Ash of Charlotte, NC, Clintona Lodise and Jeanne Harrison of Chula Vista, CA, Sylvia Starks of San Leandro, CA, and Andrea Johnson of San Diego, CA; brothers Kerry McClendon of Knoxville, TN, Ivan Jackson of Cleveland, TN and Franklin Harrison, Jr. of Menifee, CA; sisters-in-law, Linda Saddiq and Sylvia Hawkins of Loudon, TN and Jackie Smith of Lenoir City, TN; brother-in-law, Anthony Hawkins of Loudon, TN. Also a great-aunt, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins. Rose is best known for her sweet and kind spirit, her devotion to the Lord and to her family, and for the numerous children within her family and in her community that she has mothered throughout the years. She is known as "Nana" and "Grandma" to her granddaughters who she simply adored. The family will receive friends at Mt. Olive Baptist Church (509 Church Street, Loudon, TN 37774) on Monday, November 24, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Home Going Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Elder Fields will be officiating.
