Jarvis Easter

EASTER, JARVIS V. - 92, of Goose Creek, who was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Cora Beatrice (Purdy) Easter, passed away June 12, 2011. Born in Roane County, TN he was the eldest son of the late Robert and Fannie Lou (Cox) Easter. Mr. Easter served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps Eglin Field, FL and prior to the war he was an Army infantryman in the Panama Canal Zone. He retired from the City of Toledo in 1981 after serving 22 years in the Street's Division. Mr. Easter was a member of Northwest Baptist Church, Toledo, OH and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Easter is survived by two sons, Douglas (Muriel) Easter of Goose Creek, SC Vernon (Nancy) Easter of Petersburg, MI and daughter, Lou Ann Easter of Toledo, OH and brother Billy Gene (Geneva) Easter of Harriman, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren, Keith (Wendy) Easter, Kevin (Alisa) Easter, Kristin (Jon) Howard, Matthew Easter, Joshua (Robin) Easter, and many great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Fooshee Cemetery, in his hometown of Loudon, TN. The family wishes for memorial contributions to be made to Miles Road Baptist Church, 816 Miles Road, Summerville, SC 29485. McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel, Goose Creek, SC and Loudon Funeral Home, Loudon, TN are assisting the family with arrangements.
