Jimmy Eugene Lindsey, age 77 of Sweetwater, opened his greatest Christmas present in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. He served 34 years in many capacities from supply to maintenance then recruiting in the United States Army. Jimmy loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He lived in Okeechobee Florida for a brief time and made many friends fishing and sitting on the porch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Alma Lindsey, and brother, Freddy Lindsey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra Sheppard Lindsey, children, Tony Burnette and wife Tyra, Tony Lindsey and wife Pennie, Bryan Lindsey and wife Leslie, and Henry Britton, grandchildren, Sidney Burnette, Emily Flachbart and husband Cody, Alexis Hoover and husband Jeb, Christen Talley and husband Joe, Joshua Lindsey and wife Breanna, Taylor Lindsey, Eli Lindsey, Elliott Lindsey, Kaylen Gonzalez and husband Tony, and Maggie Lindsey, 10 great-grandchildren, brother, Arthur Lee Lindsey, sister, Patsy Stickrod and husband Phil, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 12-2pm at Loudon Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Tony Lindsey and Dr. Tommy Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Loudon County Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
