Jimmy Austin Woodruff, age 78 of Sweetwater, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2025. He was an active member and Sunday School teacher at Reed Springs Baptist Church. He retired from Y-12 National Security Complex. He loved vehicles, farming, gardening, and his bluebirds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lelia Woodruff, and father and mother-in-law, Luke W. and Carrie Bates. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay Woodruff; children, James Woodruff and wife Carrie, and Jason Woodruff; grandson, Jakeb Woodruff; sisters, Sandra Acuff (John), Judy Hurst (Dale); brothers, John Woodruff (Carolyn) and Doak Woodruff, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A special thank you to nurses Red and Lenora, and the housekeeping staff at Wood Village Nursing Home for their loving care and support for Jim and our family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Jimmy Woodruff to either the Gideon's International Bible Fund, P.O. Box 821, Sweetwater, TN 37874, or the Bread of Life Food Pantry at Reed Springs Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 2-4pm at Reed Springs Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Steven McDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Reed Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, following the funeral service.
