Joseph DeFord

Mr. Joseph "Hurley" DeFord, age 75, passed from this life on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. Hurley was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Ralphard and Mary Elizabeth Watkins DeFord, two sisters, Anna Rhea and husband Glenn Goodwin, Ruth and husband Bob Peters, one brother, Frederick "Jug" and wife Ann DeFord, and one nephew, Ralph Russell. He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Barbara Jean Littleton DeFord, two daughters, Kellye Roberts and husband Lester, Jennifer Koger and husband Richie all of Manchester, Tennessee, one sister, Carolyn Chaney and the late James Chaney of Loudon, Tennessee, four grandchildren, Christopher and wife Katie Roberts, Jessica and husband Jeffrey Brothers, Megan Roberts, Caleb Koger, one great grandson, Hunter Roberts, two nieces, Jean Hooker, Sandi Bell, two nephews, Steve DeFord and Fred Chaney. Mr. DeFord attended the First Baptist Church of Beechgrove. He enjoyed farming, Quail bird hunting, and spending time with his family. Hurley loved to cook. His family and fellowship with them were his life.
