Judy Buchanan

Judy Buchanan, age 72 of Loudon,TN and formerly of Candler, NC, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday February 4th following an extended illness.

 Judy was a devoted mother, sister, and friend. She was most recently a member of Central Baptist Church in Loudon, TN and taught Sunday School for many years at Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler, NC while her children were small. She was dedicated to her boys and spent many years as a substitute teacher and secretary for the YBCA youth leagues at Skylanes Bowling Alley in Asheville in order to spend time with them. When she wasn’t busy with them, she spent her time as a professional florist providing beautiful arrangements for family, friends, and all of the Candler community.  

Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Norma (Holland) Biggs, her father, Pete Lindsey, and her beloved sister, Linda Holland. She is survived by her sons, Rusty (Angie) Buchanan of Loudon, TN and Craig (Amelia) Buchanan of Arden, NC, grandson, Tyler Buchanan, granddaughters, Kaylie and Alexis Buchanan, and sister Kathy (David) Smathers, special niece and nephews, and several cousins. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Loudon Funeral Home.  

There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 1 Chapel of Faith Dr. Candler, NC 28715 from 12 PM – 2 PM with the graveside service following.
