Kate Nelms

NELMS, KATE L. - 88, of Philadelphia, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Kate was of the Baptist faith and preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Rebecca Sitzlar Lowe; husband, James E. Nelms; son, Patrick Lowe; siblings, Mildred Brewer, Minnie Wheat, Faye Sleeper, James Richard Sitzlar, Delcie Farris, Pat Lowe. Survivors: son, James "Bud" Nelms of Loudon; God grandson, Bradley Rayfield of Lenoir City; sister, Virgina Brown of Loudon; sister-in-law, Barbara Nelms of Loudon; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kate's memory to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37909. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care provided by the staff of UT Hospice and UT Home Health Care. Funeral services 7:00 p.m., Friday, with Rev. Jimmy Jackson and Rev. Gene Farmer officiating. Interment 11:30 a.m., Saturday Prospect Cemetery.
