Margaret Bishop

Margaret Louise McCrary Bishop, age 97 of Loudon passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022.  Margaret loved her Lord and read her Bible every night.  She was a longtime and devoted member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church.  Margaret enjoyed horseback riding, water skiing, camping, and loved gardening and farming.  Margaret also enjoyed her work family, spending 37 and a half years working for Yale and Town in Lenoir City. Margaret is preceded in death by parents, Will and Dora McCrary; husband, Guy Bishop; Daughter, Frieda Bishop Stafford; Siblings, Grover McCrary, Ralph McCrary, Ray McCrary, Artie McCrary Miller, Alma McCrary Costner, Mary McCrary Woody; and several nieces and nephews.  Margaret is survived by son, Billy Bishop and wife Karen; Grandchildren, Robin Webb and husband Ryan, Billy Lynn Bishop, Janet Stanley and husband Marty, Johnny Stafford, Jason Sweeton and wife Sheryl; Great Grandchildren, Justin Burnette, Chad Purdy, Elizabeth Young, Adam Young and fiance Raegan Massey, and Katy Stanley; Great Great Granddaughter, Aria Purdy; Margaret is also survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of Loudon Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7PM.  Rev. Daniel Fortman and Dr. Jason Sweeton will be officiating.  The graveside service will be on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 10:00AM at Valley View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Valley View Freewill Baptist Church in Margaret’s honor.
