Melba "Marie" Rader McKee age 95 years 363 days passed away peacefully on Saturday December 2, 2017 with her family by her side. Marie was born on December 4, 1921. Marie began working at an early age at Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill and later at Maremont until retiring. Marie was preceded in death by, parents, Carey M. and Willie Mae Dyke Rader; husband, Charles McKee, son and daughter-in-law, Stewart Douglas and Pearline McKee; sisters, Lillian Albertson, Juanita Howard, brothers, Kenneth and Harrison Rader, son-in-law, William T. Starritt. She is survived by, daughter, Patricia Starritt and granddaughter, Renee Jenkins of Knoxville. Grandson, Tony McKee and wife Anita, granddaughter Tonya Needham and fiancée Scott Councilman of Asheboro, NC. great granddaughter, Wendy Gillespie and husband Jimmy and their daughters, Kincaid and Keaton of Corryton, TN. Great granddaughter, Stephanie Needham, of Asheboro, NC. Great granddaughter, Jessica Jenkins, and her sons, Kai and Silas of Knoxville, TN. Great grandson, Derek McKee and wife Gina and their sons, Colton and Tate of Asheboro, NC. Great granddaughter, Nicole Wilson and husband Brett and their twin sons, Finn and Holt of Martinez, GA. Brother, Max Rader and wife Mary of Maryville, TN. Sister-in-law, Barbra Rader of Kensington, KS. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Loudon Funeral Home Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 12 to 2 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Keith Wheeler officiating. Marie will be buried beside her husband, Charles at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Loudon,TN. Marie was often referred to as the "flower lady" because of the beautiful flowers she grew. She enjoyed sharing with friends and neighbors, especially Dr. Rahman and his staff.
