After a period of illness, Mary J. Blair, 80, died August 9, 2014 at NHC Healthcare Facility in Knoxville, Tennessee. Affectionately known to all as "Sweetie", she was born in Loudon to the late Dewey and Mary Lou Blair. Sweetie was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God by getting baptized on July 24, 1964. She had a strong faith in God's promise to transform this earth into a beautiful paradise where sickness and death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3-5) She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Admiral Blair and Elizabeth Ann Webster. Sweetie graduated from high school in 1952; thereafter earning an Associate in Arts Degree from Morristown College in 1954. She retired from a career in the banking industry in 1999. Sweetie is survived by her son Mark (and Tracy) Blair of Loudon; two grandsons: Marcus Gabriel Blair (and Cora) of Maryville, and Jason Nathaniel Blair (and Jillian) of Morristown; three great grandchildren: Jazlyn, Jevon, and Jayda; sisters: Sarah Blair, Ella Jones, and Cynthia Ferguson all of Loudon; special nephews: Admiral "Bumper" Webster; Rodney (and Nikki), and "Little Rod" Jones; special nieces: Ashley Ferguson, Danyelle Jones, and Jacqueline Elizabeth Webster all of Loudon; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, 3 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 301 Country Lane in Loudon, Tennessee.
