THOMAS, NILA UMPHREY - 86 OF Oakland Road, Sweetwater, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Ft. Loudon Medical Center. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Murray Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, J. D. Thomas; parents, Charles and Mattie Viar Umphrey Webb; sisters, Nevida Cook and Elsie Phelps. Survivors: son, Joe (Helen) Thomas, Loudon, Paul (Dorothy) Thomas, Sweetwater; daughters, Nancy (Roger) Greer, Kingsport, Mary (Wayne) Dockery, Niota; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Charles Umphrey; sister, Pauline Hooper. Funeral services 7:00 p.m. Saturday Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Paul Thomas and Bro. Bobby Lawson officiating.
