Patricia Marie Harper

 Patricia Marie Harper “Mrs. Pat,” age 87, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024.  Patricia was a Charter member of Central Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 50+ years.   She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a long-time elementary school teacher at Philadelphia and Steekee schools, while also spending time as a substitute teacher throughout the county.  

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Boyd Harper; Grandson, Brad Dills; Parents, Fred and Arlene Hughes; Brother, Fred Hughes; Brother in law, Charles Mulvaney; and Great nephew, Sean Mulvaney.  She is survived by her children, Mark Harper and wife Lee Anne, Julie Dills and husband Aaron, and Janet Harper; Grandchildren, Brittany Davis and husband Clint, Stephen Dills, Kevin Dills, Sarah Harper, Tyler Duke and Nathan Duke; Great Grandchild, Riley Boyd Davis; Sister, Kathleen Mulvaney; Special Babies, Rosie and Ensley Tallent. Patricia is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.  The family would also like to extend a special thanks to her long-time care givers, Sky Fortener and Lilly Tallent.   

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Philadelphia Elementary and Steekee Elementary schools to be applied to the lunch balances. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of Loudon Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 7PM with Rev. Bud Slaton officiating.   The graveside service will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11AM at Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
