Paul Walter Chrisman- of Sweetwater to Roy W. and Mary Ann (Smythers) Chrisman, passed away quietly at his home on Saturday afternoon November 23, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He married Tina Louise Mitchell on November 26, 1954 daughter of John and Hazel (Rhynes) Mitchell on on November 26, 1954. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, two sons, Mitchell(Jean) Chrisman, Creve Coeur, IL. Mark (Mary Jane) Chrisman of Sweetwater. One daughter, Melinda (Bruce)Gast of Ft.Dodge Iowa. Also surviving are his sister, Shirley (Harrison)Cawood of Lenoir City, and two brother-in-law's, John "Buck" Mitchell and Henry Mitchell, six grandsons. Two granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He may have been born in Tn. But he spent part of his life in Creve Coeur, IL. Where he lived for 35 years retiring from Caterpillar in 1979 where he was a member of UAW local 974 and returned to his home state of Tn. He was a very active member of numerous Masonic Lodges including, Frank N. Nichol # 1170 Creve Coeur, IL, Tennessee Lodge # 204 Loudon, Tn, Sweetwater Lodge # 292 which he had served as master of all them at several times. He was also an honorary member Tellico Lodge # 80, and Avery Lodge # 593. He was a member of the Eastern Star of Loudon where he had served as worthy patron several times and was worthy patron at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Knoxville and York Rite of Loudon. He was 32 second Degree mason and was past president of the Scottish Rite Club of Lenoir City. He served his country during the Korean War in the army National Guard 278th . Although he loved his grandchildren two of his grandsons held a special place. They are Justin and Tyler Chrisman who helped him on his farm. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made in his name to: Tennessee Lodge # 204 Scholarship Fund, Scottish Rite of Knoxville Shoe Fund, U.T. Hospice, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
