Peanut Jackson

“Peanut” Martha Almalene Jackson, age 93 of Loudon, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.  Peanut was a beloved wife, mother and nanny.  She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she loved to sing.  She was a tremendous woman of faith.

Peanut was preceded in death by husband, Pete Jackson; Daughters, Virginia Ward and Linda Lawhon; Sisters, Stella, Louise, Alice, Rosie, and Betty; Brothers, Hugh, Fred, Elmer, Lonnie, Floyd, Roscoe; Parents, Lonnie and Nellie Arden; Sisters in law, Geraldine Simpson and husband, Bobby and Benny Jackson. She is survived by daughter, Viola Lorenz; Grandchildren, Kristi Guider and husband Dino, Shannon Smith and husband Brian, Michael McLemore and wife Jamie, Marla Foster; Sister, Nancy “Booty” Martin; Son in law, David Ward; 9 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great Great Grandchildren; Sisters in law, Jo Ann Arden and Patsy Manis. Peanut is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Lakewood Place and Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veterans Home.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Loudon Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Michael McLemore, Rev. Gary Cook, and Rev. Ronnie Davis officiating.  Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 2 PM Sunday to go in procession to New Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery for the 3 PM graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
