Shirley Liddycoat

Shirley S. Liddycoat Born December 7, 1921, formally of Sherrill, New York, passed away April 24, 2012. Shirley and her husband, Bob, moved to Tennessee in 1978 following Bob's retirement from Onieda Silversmith. Shirley worked for the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School system in New York and after moving here worked for the University of Tennessee until her retirement. Always full of life, she loved her family and friends and always made the most of every day she was given. She was an avid reader, authored her own autobiography at age 89, an artist, and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Her memory lives on through her family and we were blessed to have been a part of her life for so long. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ada Sweatman; her husband, Robert Liddycoat, and her daughter, Pamela Long. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Pat Liddycoat of Canastota, NY; her son-in-law, Fred Long of Knoxville; grandchildren Betsy Graham, of Waterford, NY; Robert Liddycoat, Dan Long, and Chris Schubert, all of Knoxville; 3 great grandchildren; Nick Schubert, Ryan and Mason Graham. The family will hold a private ceremony to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Little Creek Sanitarium, 1811 Little Creek Lane, Knoxville, TN 37922.
