Teresa Jo Palmer

Teresa Jo Collins Palmer, 60, of Sweetwater, went to be with Jesus on April 13, 2023.  She was born in Mt. Carmel, IL on August 12, 1962 and grew up in Maryland. She served in the U. S. Army in the early 1980’s  and had a restaurant in Mt. Carmel prior to moving to Tennessee in 1989.

Teresa was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord and attended Crossroads Baptist Church in Sweetwater. She always had a love of music. She would sing along to nearly anything and was talented on piano and guitar.

Teresa is preceded in death by her stepfather, Danny Engle; sister, Darla Overton and brother, Chris Collins.  She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gary Palmer; mother, Mary Jo Engle; stepfather, Franklin Wood; children, Craig Collins and wife, Mandy, Brandy Collins, Tyler Foshee and wife, Brittany, Sylvia Collins; stepchildren, Jeremy Palmer and wife, Amanda, Holly Johnson and Nathan Day; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Frank Wood and wife, Amanda and Kevin Lee Wood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Loudon Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Isaac Wood will be officiating. The interment will follow at Sweetwater Memory Park.
