Trena Harper Hasl March 21, 1942 - September 11, 2017 My name is Trena Harper Hasl. I was born on March 21, 1942 in Brighton, CO to Ralph and Ruby Harper. In 1960, I graduated from Brighton High School and together with my parents moved to Charleston, TN the very next day. Accompanying us to Charleston was my cherished horse Rick. He and I competed in numerous equestrian competitions and won many awards along the way. My first job was working in the Corporate Office of a 5 and 10cent store called Lay and Company from 1960 to 1968. In 1968, I took a job with the Merchants bank in Cleveland, TN. I am proud of my time working for the bank. My hard work and dedication allowed me to reach the position of Vice President of the loan department before I retired in October 1990. While visiting my sister in Colorado in January of 1991 I met the love of my life Fred Hasl. I moved back to Colorado in September of 1991 and in March of 1992 had the privilege of becoming Fred's wife. We had 17 wonderful years together until his passing. My life has been a wonderful adventure. I have enjoyed traveling, gardening, singing in the choir at both the First Baptist Church in Charleston, TN where I would occasionally fill in as choir director and at the Faith Baptist Church in Longmont, CO, spending time with family and friends, going skiing with my nephew and niece, service on the Development Board for the Town of Charleston and going to amusement parks. As I complete this journey called Life, I go to be with those who have gone before me, my parents, my husband, and my sister and her husband Sharon and Franklin Ratzlaff. I leave behind my stepson Jim Hasl and wife Jamie and grandson Zach Hasl. My stepdaughter Mary Hasl. My nephew Kirk Ratzlaff and wife Debra. My niece Verneta Lechman and husband Tony. My great nephews Jon Ratzlaff and wife Shea and Austin Ratzlaff. My great nieces Annica McCoy and husband Myles, Mariah and Nicole Lechman and my great great nephew Gunner Ratzlaff. Also staying behind is my faithful cousin Bill Jenkins, and my precious friends Sue and Elmer Chambers and Janet and Norlin Cavender. On September 11, 2017, I happily leave behind the shackles of Parkinson's and joyously walk into the arms of Jesus. I look forward to reuniting with you all in heaven.
